Hand Weaving Training

A Hand Weaving Specialist is an individual who possesses the knowledge and skills necessary for dyeing yarns, using weaving tools and equipment, preparing for weaving, performing weaving, and completing the weaving process.

What Are the Areas of Employment?

This certificate program aims to equip participants with the qualifications of yarn dyeing specialist, flat kilim weaver, and shuttle weaver.

A Person Holding This Certificate Can:

• Develop creative abilities and make basic drawings.
• Identify patterns and materials, prepare for embroidery, perform simple embroidery stitches, lacework, bead and sequin stitching, non-hoop machine embroidery, and sand needle techniques, and make the product ready for use.
• Distinguish between natural, artificial, and synthetic fibers, prepare for dyeing, and dye yarns.
• Prepare patterns for shuttle weaving, perform weaving with plain weave, panama, rib, twill, satin, and mixed weaves, and weave peshtemals (traditional Turkish towels).
• Weave Cicim, Zili, and Soumak techniques.
• Prepare for and perform carpet weaving.
• Weave traditional fabrics such as Manisa cloth, Çıpıt, Keşan, Kastamonu sheet fabric, Dastar, Ödemiş silk, Şile cloth, Ayancık linen, Ehram, and Rize cloth (feretiko).
• Prepare and weave regional kilims such as Sarız, Eşme, Kelkit, and Bayat kilims.

Certification

Participants who successfully complete the training will be awarded, optionally, an internationally recognized IATELS (International Association for Technology, Education and Language Studies) certificate or a certificate bearing the Asilzade Eğitim logo.

A certificate approved by the Council of Europe (British Educational Affairs),

ICCW (International Certification Center Of The World) certificate,

and e-Government and university-approved certificates will also be offered for an additional fee.
